Ford's hot Fiesta ST uncovered ....

06 March 2012

Ford Fiesta ST front

We heard rumour of the new Renaultsport Clio 200 rival was undergoing high-speed testing at the Nürburgring. And as you can see from the picture it is a conteder to be not only the best looking Fiesta yet but one of the best looking hatchbacks of recent years.

Factor in the widened wheelarches, side skirts, big alloys, an unholy amount of ST badges and, of course, a bright colour, and it will really get people going. But that front grille surely clinches the deal and it isn't only for show this ridiculous intake helps feed cool air to the Fiesta's punchy motor.

The previous-generation Fiesta ST delivered only 150bhp, but thanks to the firm's 1.6-litre direct-injection turbocharged engine it will be looking at putting out 200. The motor also gives the ST a link to Ford's mighty Fiesta World Rally Championship entry, which has a similar powerplant.
